The New Rochelle Police Department received a tip at approximately 7:47 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25 that a man with an active arrest warrant in Yonkers had gotten into a vehicle at the intersection of North Avenue and Lockwood Avenue.
Officers tracked down the suspect vehicle on North Avenue, and during the stop, it was determined that the driver, Jamaal Solaam Anderson, age 39, of Eutawville, South Carolina, had a warrant out of Yonkers for harassment.
Further investigation found that Anderson was in possession of a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun with an additional loaded magazine and 30 loose rounds.
Anderson was arrested without incident and charged for the warrant, as well as criminal possession of a weapon and possession of certain ammunition feeding devices. No return court date has been provided.
